The Christmas Tag

Welcome to the first day of my 12 Days of Christmas series where I will be posting Christmas themed posts every day for the 12 days of Christmas!

Hey guys,

What a better way to start off my series other than doing the Christmas Tag! I love doing these tag type posts and I was searching on the internet for more and I stumbled across the Christmas tag which fits perfectly into my 12 Days of Christmas!

1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?

My favourite Christmas movie is probably Christmas with the Kranks because it reminds me of my childhood as me and my Mum and Dad would watch this about 50 times in the run up to Christmas because we found it so funny. I also love Home Alone (who doesn’t), Elf (again, who doesn’t), The Polar Express, The Snowman and The Santa Clause which now that I think about it is in close second place of my all time fave Xmas films.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

I open my presents on Christmas morning but some years my parents get me a little Christmas eve present. It’s not a big present but they give me one little thing that I love e.g. last year they gave me a box of glittery macarons from M&S because I LOVE them, especially if they have glitter on them!

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

I don’t have a favourite memory but one of the memories that I love is on Christmas Eve me and my family went to a country park near our home and set off Chinese lanterns. I know this isn’t very Christmassy but I loved that night as I love spending time with my parents and we all had a fun time, laughing and looking up at the lanterns we had set off.

4. Favourite festive food?

Stuffing. I friggen love stuffing. I don’t allow my parents to put stuffing balls on my normal roast dinner as I want to save the excitement for Christmas (I am so sad lol). I also love pigs in blankets mmm. My mouth is literally watering so muc writing this I need to stop.

5. Favourite Christmas gift?

I think my favourite gift was probably when my Dad bought me a ‘surprise gift’ which was an iPod touch. I thought iPod’s were so much money at the time and I thought only really rich people had them (don’t ask why because I have no idea) so when I opened the present I literally screamed with excitement (also because I thought 11 year old Chloe had been given an iPhone – again, don’t ask because I have no idea).

6. Favourite Christmas scent?

I’m not sure what the scent is but every Christmas my house smells so Christmassy and I can’t put my finger on what the smell is coming from! I’m not sure whether I’m just imagining it or it’s the smell of the decorations but it just smells like Christmas.

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?

When I was younger we used to go to the pantomime every Christmas Eve – preferably a princess themed one like Cinderella or Snow White and I would dress up as this princess and sit in the theatre thinking I was actually watching the REAL Cinderella or Snow White. Then we would go home and bake cookies. I actually still make cookies on Christmas Eve with my Mum and Dad, just for old times sake.

8. What tops your tree?

An awful, old and battered angel. I actually love this angel as it’s tradition for me to put it on the top of the tree and it reminds me of my childhood around Christmas time. I always tell my parents that they should get a new angel but secretly inside I don’t want it to change.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received.

I actually don’t think that there is anything that I asked for and never got. I was so lucky to receive the amount of gifts that I did when I was younger, and even now at 18 years of age! My parents are no where near rich so I am so grateful and lucky for all the gifts given in the past.

10. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?

The best part for me is the build up, everyone is happy, there is Christmas music playing and decorations everywhere. I also love the build up because there are loads of Christmas markets! I love the atmosphere of the markets and I especially love the German hot dogs and crepes!

I hope you enjoyed today’s 12 Days of Christmas post, I hope to see you again tomorrow!

  1. The Build Up is my favorite part too! It’s so heart warming to see all these jolly faces as we decorate and sing songs! Everybody around the world seems to be in happier spirits. Which is the magic of Christmas that I love. Great post!
