Today I am going to share with you my review of SIX primers that I have recently been trying out. P.S, sorry if the images are not too good, I’m not too sure what is going on with my camera!
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water:
I have tried many low priced primer waters and setting sprays over time and I have never found one that makes my makeup sink into my skin and makes my makeup look ‘natural’ and very skin-like whilst making my makeup last all day or night long. However, this primer water is the ONLY one that I have found that ticks all the boxes. This is such a staple in my makeup collection and I have gone through many bottles of this product over the years and would really recommend this to anyone! My skin type is combination dry/oily and it seems to hydrate my skin yet hold back all the oils, making my makeup look flawless all day every day.
Too Faced Hangover Rx Replenishing Face Primer:
I have a real love/hate relationship with this primer. It hydrates my skin and makes my foundation look amazing, but if I put too much of this primer on it peels off my face as I’m applying my foundation – I’m not too sure if I genuinely was just unluckily and was left with a bottle that wasn’t very good or this primer doesn’t react well with the foundation I use but I’m unsure whether I hate or love this product. If anyone has had similar experiences with this primer, please comment down below and let me know!
NYX Born To Glow Illuminating Primer:
I looooove this primer so much! It does exactly what it says on the tin – illuminates the hell out of my skin. This makes my base makeup look so glowy without looking oily – which is a problem that I have had with other ‘illuminating’ primers. I don’t really like to apply this to my t-zone as I tend to get oily in this area and I do not want to amplify the look glowyness on my t-zone, but I love smothering the rest of my face in this. I also think that this primer could be used as a liquid highlight too!
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion:
I know that this is not a facial primer, but this eyeshadow primer is an absolute GOD SEND! It keeps my eyeshadow on all night and definitely does not allow it to budge or smudge. This primer also allows my eyeshadows to blend seamlessly and makes it so much easier to achieve a great smokey eye. I have used this product religiously for over a year now and I really would recommend it to anyone!
Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Primer:
Okay, please don’t judge my little old greatly loved bottle – I realise it is dirty but it’s because I have had this product for over a year now as I love it so so much. It fills in my pores and makes my skin look AND feel so soft! It creates such a smooth canvas for me to work on and makes my foundation look stunning over top. The tube doesn’t look so big but trust me, it last a whole god damn long time.
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer:
This is another primer that I am very undecided on. It mattefies my skin and fills in my pored but doesn’t seem to fill them in as well as the porefessional primer. The tube says that it is ‘oil free’ but I feel as though the product feels quite oily and greasy, but it does blend out to be a matte finish. I have seen a lot of hype around this primer over the years, but I’m not too sure that I’m so hyped about this product.
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you have enjoyed today’s post!
